Welcome to the music ministries of Sam Jones Church!

You will find we have much to offer-no matter what your age, interest or ability level. The goals of the music ministry of Sam Jones are:

• To enhance the worship experience by providing excellent choral and instrumental music, and by encouraging congregational participation in the musical expression of worship.
• To provide an opportunity for artistic expression and outlet for ministry for our many volunteers.
• To provide opportunities for training and education in the musical arts.
• To reach out to the Cartersville community with the message of God's hope and love expressed through music.

Children's Choirs

Our children's music programs meet from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday nights as part of our family night program. Kinder-choir is for those children 4 years old through kindergarten. Primary Choir is for children in grades 1-3, while the Junior Chorale is for grades 4-6. These choirs stress music and worship education and skill development although the children sing for worship and other events on occasion. Each choir is available to any child in the appropriate age group who is interested.

Youth Ensemble

The Youth ensemble rehearses on Sunday afternoons at 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. This group is for all youth in grades 7-12. The ensemble sings for worship every 6-8 weeks as well as other special programs throughout the church year.

Handbell Choirs

The Bells of Sam Jones rehearse Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. While prior bell experience and the ability to read music is helpful, it is not a requirement to be a part of this fun group.

The Celebration Ringers rehearse on Thursday mornings at 10:30 am. The main focus of this group is to represent the church by playing in personal care and nursing homes.

Chancel Choir

The chancel choir meets on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. This choir is open to all adults and sings for the 9:00 am and 11:00 am worship services, as well as other special services throughout the church year. At least once a year the chancel choir performs a cantata or other major work.

Celebration Band

This talented combination of instrumentalists and vocalists utilize many musical styles as they help lead our 9:45 Celebration Worship service. Because this ministry area is VERY involved and requires a certain level of musical proficiency, auditions are required.

Instrumental Music

Play a musical instrument? We are always looking for brass, woodwinds, and percussion to accompany anthems, hymns, and provide music for worship and other special services.
