The Music Ministry of Sam Jones Church

You will find we have much to offer-no matter what your age, interest or ability level. The goals of the music ministry of Sam Jones are:

• To enhance the worship experience by providing excellent choral and instrumental music, and by encouraging congregational participation in the musical expression of worship.
• To provide an opportunity for artistic expression and an outlet for ministry for our many volunteers.
• To provide opportunities for training and education in the musical arts.
• To reach out to the Cartersville community with the message of God's hope and love expressed through music.

Children's Choirs
The Sam Jones children's music programs meet from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday nights as part of our family night program.  Cherub Choir is for those children pre-K and kindergarten.  Seraph Choir includes children in the first and second grades, while the Junior Chorale is for grades three through five.  The choirs emphasize music and worship education and skill development.  There are also opportunities for singing in worship and other events throughout the year.  All children in the appropriate age group are encouraged to join in.

Handbell Choir
The Bells of Sam Jones rehearse Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. While prior bell experience and the ability to read music is helpful, it is not a requirement to be a part of this fun group.

Chancel Choir
The chancel choir meets on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. This choir is open to all adults and sings for the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. traditional worship services, as well as other special services throughout the church year. At least once a year the Chancel Choir performs a cantata or other major work.

Celebration Band
This talented combination of instrumentalists and vocalists utilize many musical styles as they help lead our 9:45 a.m. Celebration Worship service. Because this ministry area is very involved and requires a certain level of musical proficiency, auditions are required.

Instrumental Music
Play a musical instrument? We are always looking for brass, woodwinds, and percussion to accompany anthems, hymns, and provide music for worship and other special services.
